In 2018, property owners from the Port Hadlock “ Phase I Area” (Core Area, Waterfront, Old Alcohol Plant) presented the County with a petition indicating strong support for the sewer and potential interest in forming a Local Improvement District. The Plan has received approval from the Department of Ecology.Ģ021 Sewer Facility Plan Update (Appendices) Zoning, population, and project phasing remain unchanged from the 2008 Plan. The updated plan reflects the use of new pre-fabricated, modular MBR treatment units and a pressurized collection system to reduce initial project costs. These documents contain updates to the 2008 Sewer Facility Plan and are consistent with the information contained in the May 2019 Value Engineering Review (Feasibility Study). The sewer system has been identified as a critical element for increased regional economic development. Jefferson County, WA is developing a sewer system for the Irondale & Port Hadlock Urban Growth Area (UGA) to provide wastewater treatment for local residents and businesses.
